GTD: 2026/Jan 18

Is a Placer Claim in the heart of the infamous Cariboo Mining Area which has traditionally been and is a hot mineral and placer area since the late 1800’s. Water Source is on NW edge of claim. Access appears to be good and this claim is a reasonable way to get involved into placer mining in the world famous Cariboo mining District. Of interest is the Norn Creek  MF 093G 058 located 3.13Km north of the claim which was a past producer with a Surficial Placers deposit type. The Norm Creek placer gold occurrence is located at the junction of the Norm and Alder Creeks. Little other information is known. Data from the Cariboo mining district indicates that supergene leaching of gold found within massive sulphides by Tertiary deep weathering and then followed by Cenozoic erosion is probably the most likely explanation for the occurrence of coarse gold nuggets in the Quaternary sediments” (Exploration in British Columbia 1989, page 147).
